Bit Of Practice

They say it takes 10,000 hours to learn something properly and there’s no such thing as natural talent, it’s all down to practice.

I have mixed feeling about this because of late I’ve been doing better with less practice but I have been making a concerted effort to stay more focussed on the job in hand. Sunday down at Castle was a return to practice I was looking forward to, I’d been in the house for almost a month with two bouts of the man flu from the youngster. She manages to get over it in 3 days while I’m still on the deck two weeks later feeling sorry for myself while buying shares in Sudafed and feeling sorry for myself while climbing the walls.

I wasn’t expecting that much but the gun felt good and the seating position was also good, which was a bit of a relief. We got to lane 1, a testing set of kneelers and I couldn’t even remember which way I kneeled, very embarrassing for about 10 seconds, I missed both!

The wind is always tricky at Castle, it can often look and feel like there’s nothing but there always is and this isn’t helped by the wind whipping off the open field and onto the well-worn paths, what’s at the end of the gun isn’t what’s on the target!

I didn’t do too bad considering but there are a few more sessions defiantly needed before The BFTA Champs and Inters weekend.
